Tomato ( Tomate ) from the Pura Vida collection.
This work invites a deep reflection on the impact of genetic manipulation on nature, symbolized here by a Tomato, whose DNA contains 24 chromosomes. Using a palette of vibrant reds, blacks and touches of yellow-orange, the artist presents a contrast between the harmony of nature with its perfect flaws and human intervention. A barcode integrated into the molecular structure of the Tomato represents the code of life created by God for all living organisms that risk being denatured, losing what was originally pure. The piece challenges us to rethink our relationship with the natural environment and to evaluate the ethical and ecological implications of genetically modifying what is part of our biodiversity.
